Centennial Fountain, Midwest City, OK

In 2005, the City of Midwest City literally tore down their downtown and started over--wanting economic revitalization and a new image. To accent the area, they suggested turning a detention pond adjacent to I-40 into something more--a pond with a highly visible water feature. CLS & Associates was brought on board to help develop their vision. Hundreds of concepts for fountain and pond development were considered before construction documents begun. The fountain attracts shoppers and tourists to the district and families are often found at the plaza viewing the fountain and sculpture and walking the trails. Landscaping, including wetland plants in the pond, tie the area together aesthetically.
