The Heritage Center in Wichita Falls, TX is a must-see for military and aviation buffs. Said to have hosted Amelia Earhart, Wiley Post and Will Rogers, it is a listed historical site and was one of the first structures erected at Kell Field, Wichita Falls' first municipal airport. This historic building lay in disrepair for years before Sheppard Air Force Base invested in its renovation into an air history museum. CLS & Associates helped to complete it's transformation by designing improvements including a paved terrace for outdoor events, fencing, a small fountain at the visitor's courtyard and landscaping. Historic preservation and interpretation were important to this plan.
