Stone Canyon Elementary School CLS & Associates provided design services for landscape and playground plans for building architect, The Stacy Group, at Stone Canyon Elementary in Owasso, Oklahoma. Also designed were two outdoor classrooms. One, for children in K through 2nd grade and features animal tracks, a maze and compass rose constructed of concrete pavers. Another area, designed for 3rd through 5th grade students, features a human sundial constructed of concrete pavers, native plant display, garden plots and two log shade structures which frame the entrance and learning areas. An herb and sensory garden, a pondless water fountain, and sound tubes of various heights also provide interest to young students. The classrooms are attractive, low in maintenance and have been successful learning tools for the teachers and students at Stone Canyon Elementary.
